Arthur Miller

Arthur Miller (October 1915 - February 2005) is considered one of the greatest playwrights of the twentieth century. A staunch opponent of McCarthyism in the USA and a writer with progressive views, he gained worldwide recognition with his works: "All My Sons" (1947), "Death of a Salesman" (1949), "The Crucible" (1953), "A View from the Bridge" (1955), "After the Fall" (1964), "Incident at Vichy" (1966), "The Archbishop's Ceiling" (1972), "The Last Yankee" (1993), "Broken Glass" (1994). In 2001, the collection of essays "Echoes Down the Corridor; Collected Essays 1944-2000" was published, highlighting his significance and influence not only as a playwright but also as an intellectual and cultural commentator.
