
Ruth Rendell
Ruth Rendell was born in 1930 in England. After finishing school, she worked as a journalist for local newspapers. She is considered one of the leading authors of crime novels. She wrote over 50 novels and was repeatedly awarded for her work (Edgar Award, CWA Gold Dagger, Sunday Times Literary Award). In 1997, she was bestowed the title of Baroness (Baroness Rendell of Babergh). Her books have been translated into twenty-two languages. She passed away on May 2, 2015, at the age of 85, after suffering a severe stroke on January 7 of the same year.
