Sotiris F. Dimitriou

Sotiris Dimitriou (1955-) was born in Povla, Thesprotia. He lives and works in Athens. His work has been honored with the short story award from the newspaper "Ta Nea" (1987), twice with the short story award from the magazine "Diavazo" (the latest in 2002 for his book "The Delay of Good"), once with the Ouranis Foundation award from the Academy of Athens (2013), while his novel "May Your Name Be Blessed" was nominated for the European Union Prize for Literature. His writings have been adapted numerous times into films, both short and feature-length ("America" by Savas Karidas, "From the Snow" by Sotiris Goritsas, "The Fruit Trees of Athens" by Nikos Panagiotopoulos, among others).
