Dimitris Manthopoulos
Dimitris Manthopoulos was born in 1937 in Drama, to parents who were refugees from Eastern Thrace. He served for many years in primary education. He writes for children, both poetry and prose. He has been awarded multiple times in Children's Book competitions. In 1999, the Greek Children's Book Circle awarded him the Penelope Delta prize in recognition of his long-standing and substantial contribution to children's literature. Twelve of his books have been published, and he is a member of the Society of Greek Writers, the Greek Children's Book Circle, and for several years, he served as president of the Friends of Letters and Arts Association of Drama.
