Giannis V. Zikas

Giannis Zikas hailed from Nymfaio, Florina, and was born in Thessaloniki in 1945. He began to engage systematically with painting in 1968 while in Athens. Since then, he held numerous solo exhibitions in Athens and participated in several group exhibitions. His last exhibition was held at the Ianos Gallery in Thessaloniki in October 2008, two months before his passing on December 13. Alongside painting, Giannis Zikas was also involved in poetry and prose. The books he published include: "Sea Transports Pegasus" (prose, Exantas Publications 1976), "The Waters" (prose, ASE 1977), and "Poems" (Nisides Publications 2000).
