Antonis Traylantonis

Traulantonis, Antonis (1867-1943). Educator and writer. He was born in Messolonghi. In the school records of the gymnasium, he is listed as Chrysikopoulos. He used the same name at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Athens. However, in the Military Service records, he is registered as Traulantonis, and he retained this name thereafter. He rose to the rank of educational advisor. With his teaching experience, he sought to reform the "Modern Greek Readers." He served as president of the Educational Council until 1926. He wrote in the demotic language. He authored short stories, novellas, and novels. His most significant works include: "Pillage of a Life," "The Cousin," "Sunlit," "Apology of a Misanthrope and Other Stories," "The Two-Year Service," "Krystallenia and Other Stories," among others.
