
Tasos Goudelis
Born in 1949 in Athens, he studied law at the University of Athens. Since 1982, he has collaborated with poet Kostas Mavroudis in publishing the literary magazine "To Dentro." He has authored the short story collections: "Predators," 1990, "Morning Visit," 1993, "Women's Shadows," 1996, "Alfred's Sleep," 1999, "The Woman Who Speaks," 2002 (State Short Story Award & "Diavazo" magazine Short Story Award), "The Presence," 2010, the novel "Family Stories," 2006, and studies on film directors: "Orson Welles," 1985, "Taviani Brothers," 1986, and "John Huston," 1988. His articles on cinema and literature have been published in magazines, special editions, and newspapers. Since 1998, he has been contributing to the "Library" supplement of the newspaper "Eleftherotypia," mainly publishing reviews of foreign literature. He teaches film history at the Higher School of Dramatic Art of the National Theatre. He has taught screenwriting at various film schools and at Panteion University (Department of Mass Media). In 2007, he directed the short film "The Boulevard Killer" (15'), along with his son Vasilis Goudelis, based on a short story from his collection "Predators." This was followed in 2008 by the short film "The Meeting" (14'), again based on his short stories, which received an honorary distinction at the Drama Short Film Festival for "its original and contemporary cinematography and new perspective on cinematic language."
