Panos Trigazis

Panos Trigazis was born in 1950 in Minthi, Olympia, and grew up in Pyrgos. He studied economics in London, where he also completed a master's degree in economic development. He joined the Left movement during the years of the junta, initially as a member of KNE and later of KKE, where he served as a member of the Central Committee from 1982 and the Political Bureau from March to June 1991. Since 1991, he has been actively involved in SYN and SYRIZA, holding responsible positions in foreign policy and international relations. He served as the General Secretary of the Greek Committee for International Detente and Peace (1981-1991) and the General Secretary of the Citizens' Movement Against Racism (1992-2006). He remains actively involved in the international peace movement as a member of the European Network for Peace and Human Rights and is the President of the Observatory of International Organizations and Globalization (PADOP). His books have been published by Delfini Editions, Hellenic Letters Editions, and Taxideftis Editions. He was elected as a member of the Central Committee of SYRIZA-EKM at the Panhellenic Conference in December 2012.
