Georgios D. Metallinos
Protopresbyter Fr. Georgios Metallinos was born in Corfu in 1940, where he completed his secondary education in 1958. He studied Theology and Classical Philology at the University of Athens. After his discharge from the military in 1965, he was appointed as a scientific assistant in the Department of Patrology in Athens. Between 1969 and 1975, he pursued studies in Theology, Philology, Philosophy, History, and Sociology in West Germany (Bonn and Cologne). In 1971, he was ordained into the clergy in Germany. He holds a Doctorate in Theology from Athens and a Doctorate in Philosophy (History) from Cologne. Currently, he is a professor at the Theological School of the University of Athens, where he teaches "History and Spiritual Life of the Church of Greece during the Post-Byzantine Period." He serves as a cleric at the university church "Saint Antipas" of the School of Dentistry and is actively involved with youth activities. He is a member of numerous scientific associations and represents the Church of Greece and Cyprus at conferences. Fr. Metallinos is a well-known speaker both in Greece and internationally.
