Giannis Vardakis

Giannis Vardakis was born in 1973 in Heraklion. Since 1989, he has been a radio producer. He has collaborated with major radio stations in Crete, and for 2 years he worked with the state radio of ERA. His first book, «Thalasses Mesa» (Bookstars, 2025), was honored with the «Parmenides» Award at the 11th World Poetry Competition «K.P. Kavafis» and was nominated for the Skroutz Book Awards 2025. «Anamesa» (Bookstars, 2025) received the Psychological and Theatrical Poetry Award at the 2025 Excellence Awards for Literary Work of the International Art Academy and was included in the international edition «100 Artists of Europe» by CultureLab. In March 2026, his third book, «Agapa, re gamoto!», was published. It is his first work of prose, which received the Narrative Literature Award 2026 as part of the 2026 Excellence Awards for Literary Work of the International Art Academy. He won 2nd place in the 1st Panhellenic Prose Competition CultArt Zone. His poems have been published in the magazine "Fractal", in the magazine "Storywits", as well as in the anthology «Stales Siopis» by "itravelpoetry."
