Elizabeth Strout

Elizabeth Strout was born in Portland, Maine, in 1956. She gained recognition with her book "Abide with Me," which became a bestseller in America, and the novel "Amy and Isabelle," which received widespread acclaim from critics and readers alike, as well as numerous awards, including significant literary honors from the "Los Angeles Times" and the "Chicago Tribune." Her short stories have been repeatedly published in the press, including in "The New Yorker" and "Oprah Magazine." Her novel "Olive Kitteridge," and the rave reviews it garnered from the entire American press, earned her the Pulitzer Prize in 2008. Elizabeth Strout is a member of the faculty at the Queens University of Charlotte's School of Fine Arts in North Carolina and resides in New York.
