Kleopatra Lymperi

Kleopatra Lymperi was born in Chalkida in 1953. She studied Music at the Hellenic Conservatory and Painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts, and has pursued independent studies in Philosophy and Art History. Her poetry collections include: "The Motorcyclist Death" (Kaveiros, 1990), "Small Philharmonic" (Ikaros, 1993), "His New Year's Day" (Agra, 1997), "The Verb Hunger" (Agra, 2001), and "The Music of the Spheres" (Agra, 2007). Her translations include: "Three Conversations - Allen Ginsberg's Interview with Thomas Clark" (Printa, 2001), "Deaths for the Ladies (and Other Disasters)" - poems by Norman Mailer (Kastaniotis, 2008), and works by Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton, Ezra Pound, Emily Dickinson, Roman Kissiov, Danica Vukicevic, Becir Vukovic, Andrilia Radulovic, and Bengali Poets (Poeticanet.gr), among others. Other works include: "Neighborhoods of Chalkida" - a historical folklore study (Prood. Evia, 1989), "Flower" - a narrative (Agra, 2003), "Seven-Year-Old Maiden - Diaries on Poetry" (Agra, 2011), and "The Burial of Count Orgaz" (Gavriilidis, 2015). She has worked as a book critic for the newspaper Eleftherotypia and is a member of the Society of Authors and the Circle of Poets. Her essays are primarily published in the online magazine poeticanet.gr
