Sofia Baroutsaki-Tsirigoti was born in Nafplio. She holds a degree from the University of Grenoble, France (Université Stendhal – Grenoble III) in Language Sciences, specializing in French as a foreign language. She completed her postgraduate studies at the University of Le Mans, France (Université du Maine), in "Language Teaching and New Technologies in Language Communication." She also holds a PhD in French and Comparative Literature from the University of Bordeaux (Université Montaigne III – Bordeaux) and is a doctoral candidate at the Sorbonne University in Paris (Université Paris IV – Sorbonne), with the thesis “Literature in the Service of Interculturality in the FLE Classroom in Greece and the Contribution of New Technologies.” She teaches at the private French language and culture school ABC in Mytilene and at the University of the Aegean, within the framework of multilingualism. It is worth mentioning that she has been awarded the title of “Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques” by the French Republic for her services to education and her contribution to the promotion of the French language and culture, sciences, and the arts. At the same time, this distinction is a recognition of her academic career and her contribution to the development of Greek-French cooperation.
