Allen Levi

Allen grew up in Columbus, Georgia, attended the University of Georgia where he earned degrees in English and Law, and worked as a lawyer from 1980 to 1990. He left the legal profession for two years in 1990, moved to Scotland, and while there, received a degree in Scottish Literature from the University of Edinburgh. He returned home, resumed practicing law for three years, and eventually began a career in professional music in 1996. Since then, he has worked as a touring musician, sharing his quirky, thought-provoking style of songwriting and storytelling with audiences across the United States. He has released over twenty albums, as well as hundreds of other unpublished songs. In 2014, he published The Last Sweet Mile, a memoir about the close friendship he shared with his brother, Gary, who passed away in 2012. He has also written and published a children’s book, Oliviatown, adapted from a song of the same name. Allen published his first novel, Theo of Golden, in 2023. Learn more about Theo of Golden here. When he isn’t reading or writing, Allen tends to the family land where he lives with his father, tries to spend time with nearby family, maintains a full schedule of involvement in his small local community, and dreams of becoming an artist someday.
