
Giannis PSychopaidis
Giannis Psychopedis was born in Athens in 1945. He studied at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1963-1968) and pursued postgraduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich (1971-1976) on a scholarship from the German government. He was a founding member of the group "New Greek Realists" (1971-1971) and the Center for Visual Arts (KEI, Athens 1974-1976). He was also a member of the Munich art group 10/9 (1975). He was invited to the DAAD art program in West Berlin (1977). From 1977 to 1986, he lived and worked in Berlin, and from 1986 to 1992, he lived and worked in Brussels. In 1994, he was appointed as a professor at the Athens School of Fine Arts. He has held numerous solo and group exhibitions of his work in Greece, France, West and East Germany, Luxembourg, Spain, Yugoslavia, Romania, Ireland, Albania, Cyprus, the USA, Sweden, Israel, England, the Netherlands, Turkey, Egypt, Italy, Canada, and more, in private galleries, art galleries, and museums.
