Maria Malikiosi - Loizou

Maria Malikiosi-Loizou holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Maine, USA, and is a professor of Counseling Psychology at the Department of Early Childhood Education of the University of Athens, where she also served as president. She was a recipient of a French government scholarship for postdoctoral research (1983-1985) at the C.N.R.S., University Paris VII in France. Concurrently, she collaborated with the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) of UNESCO in Paris. On her initiative, the first Peer Counseling Center in Greece was established in 1995 at the University of Athens' Department of Early Childhood Education. Since then, it has been operating on a voluntary basis, offering services to students and organizing seminars, workshops, and other events.
