Anna Mpouratzi - THoda

Anna Bouratzi-Thoda was born in Athens but spent her childhood in the village of her father, officer Georgios Bouratzis, in Vasilopoulo, Ioannina. She completed her primary education at Kaplaneio in Ioannina and attended the 3rd Girls' High School in Athens. She holds a degree in Business Organization and Management from the University of Piraeus. She worked in the Tax Department of the Ministry of Finance. Her literary works include poetry collections such as "Sunrises," "It Never Got Dark in My Country," "Thunder in the Light," "Haiku and Tanka," "Flame's Journey," "In the Eye of the Times," "Homeland My Earth, Blood and Spirit as One," "Fiery Circles of Ancestral Land," which was set to music by composer Maria Stoupi, "In the Light of the Ages," and "In the Teeth of Medusa." Her prose works include "Tiger's Watch" (short stories), awarded by the Society of Greek Writers, "Anna Veropoulou-Filini," "Journey with the Captain's Daughter," and "When the Gods Lived on Olympus." She contributed short stories to the collective edition "Readings of Seven Voices" and many anthologies, while her works have been translated into English, French, Italian, and German. In addition to writing, she is also a painter, having held six solo exhibitions and participated in ten group exhibitions. Anna Bouratzi-Thoda is a regular contributor to the newspaper "Panepirotiki." Her articles and reviews are published in the daily newspapers of Ioannina, "Epirus," "Morning News," in "Thesprotiki" of Igoumenitsa, as well as in various magazines. She is a member of the Society of Greek Writers (EEL), a board member of the "Panepirotic Confederation," and a permanent collaborator at the "Center for Literature, Art, and Tradition" of the Brotherhood of Vasilopoulo, Ioannina.
