Faidra Zampatha - Pagoulatou

Phaedra Zambatha-Pagoulatou was born in Athens. She is the daughter of the writer Koulis Zambathas. Her name was given to her by Menelaos Lountemis and Giannis Skarimpas. She studied French and Italian Philology. From the political changeover in 1975 until 1982, she was elected General Secretary of the Society of Greek Writers and retired after 1983. She participated in public affairs through the organizations OGE, EGAK, and EEDYE. She attended numerous conferences both in Greece and abroad. She served as a board member of the House of Fine Arts and Letters and is a member of the P.E.N. Club. She has delivered many lectures in urban and rural areas, in schools, local government, and the Open University. She has published 21 books, including poetry, essays, and translations. She has also collaborated with magazines and newspapers. Her work has been translated into several languages, and her poems have been anthologized in Greece and internationally.
