Giannis Zervas

Born in Athens in 1959, he studied medicine in Athens and psychiatry in New York, returning in 1992. Since then, he has lived and worked in Athens. He is an assistant professor of psychiatry at the Medical School of the University of Athens. His published books include: "Julia" (Tram, 1983), "The Immigrant" (Agra, 1986), "Mural" (Agra, 1992), "Locked in the Office" (Agra, 1997), "The Compass of Spring" (Agra, 2001), "Julia 2" (Agra, 2010). He co-translated T.S. Eliot's "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" (Agra, 2000) with Pavlina Pampoudi and the complete works of Irvin Yalom into Greek with Evangelia Andritsanou. He has translated poetry and prose by William Carlos Williams, Ted Hughes, Pierre Reverdy, Seamus Heaney, Lee Breuer, and Sylvia Plath for the magazine "Poetry," theater, and Agra publications.
