
THanasis Triaridis
Thanasis Triaridis was born in Thessaloniki in 1970. He studied at the Faculty of Law at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He was a co-editor of the magazine "Ta Potamoploia" (1990-1992) and an editorial consultant for the magazine "Mauve" (from 2003 onwards). An author and conscientious objector, he has written 28 books comprising narratives and essays, along with more than 150 articles, all available on his website http://triaridis.gr/. Between 1996 and 2001, he was an activist with the DROM Network for the social rights of the Roma people, and since 1996, he has been actively involved in the creation of the Thessaloniki Platelet Donor Volunteer Network. In the summer of 2005, he ended his 18-month collaboration with the newspaper "Makedonia tis Kyriakis" when it refused to publish his article regarding the Macedonian language and the necessity of its teaching in schools (http://www.triaridis.gr/keimena/keimD046.htm). From 2005 to 2008, he created and coordinated the "Antiriseis" series for Typotheto publications, where six books were published in total (http://www.triaridis.gr/keimena/keimD059.htm). Since the summer of 2009, he has been a conscientious objector to military reserve service (http://www.triaridis.gr/keimena/keimD062.htm). In December 2009, he petitioned the Ombudsman for the removal of religious symbols from school classrooms and the abolition of school prayer and religious services (http://www.triaridis.gr/keimena/keimD063.htm). He has written extensively against nations, religions, totalitarianisms, cosmocorrections, anthropocorrections, racism, and all forms of individual and collective violence.
