Ilias Nikolakopoulos

Ilias Nikolakopoulos was born in Athens in 1947. He studied mathematics in Athens, Lausanne, and Paris, and later specialized in electoral sociology. He worked for many years at the National Centre for Social Research (EKKE). Today, he is a professor of electoral sociology at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the University of Athens. He regularly collaborates with the newspaper "Ta Nea" and the television station "Mega Channel" for the analysis of election results and political polls. His publications include the following books: - "Atlas of the Parliamentary Elections of October 18, 1981," Athens 1984. - "Parties and Parliamentary Elections in Greece 1946-1964: The Electoral Geography of Political Forces," Athens 1985. - "Elections and Parties in the 1980s" (co-edited with Ch. Lyrintzis), Athens 1990. - "The Hellenism of Albania" (co-edited with Th. Veremis and Th. Kouloumbis), Athens 1995. - "Society and Politics: Aspects of the Third Hellenic Republic, 1974-1994" (co-edited with Ch. Lyrintzis and D.
