Dionysis Goutsos

Dionysis Goutsos is a Professor of Text Linguistics in the Department of Linguistics (Faculty of Philology) at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He studied linguistics at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and pursued postgraduate studies at the Universities of Strathclyde and Birmingham in the United Kingdom. He has taught at the University of Birmingham and the University of Cyprus. He has published, either individually or in collaboration, the books "Modeling Discourse Topic," "Text and Communication," "The Discourse of Translation: An Anthology of Contemporary Translation Theories," "Discourse Analysis: An Introduction," "Greek as a Foreign Language: From Words to Texts," "Introduction to Corpus Linguistics," as well as numerous linguistic articles in scientific journals. He has also contributed to the scientific editing of books such as "La communication touristique. Approches discursives de l'identité et de l'altérité," "The Sociolinguistics of Cyprus," "The World of Texts," "The Greek Language in Cyprus from Antiquity to Today." His research interests lie in the fields of text linguistics and discourse analysis, as well as in the development and processing of electronic text corpora.
