Dimitris Vanellis

Dimitris Vanellis was born in Lesvos and has been living in Athens since 1976. He works at the Library of the Athens School of Fine Arts. Since 1990, he has been writing comic scripts for many Greek creators (Derveniotis, G. Dimitriou, Zafeiratos, Zikos, Zoglopitou, Kyriazis, Petrou, Solis, among others), which have been published in "Babel," "9," "Cinema," and more. He has also written several articles, and four albums of the "Fanouris Aplas" series (co-written with D. Kalaitzis and illustrated by Spyros Derveniotis) were published in the 1990s by Mammoth Comics. Additionally, he has authored the books "The Music in My Head," "Asmol," "Outside the Gray Country," and "My Summer Outside the Dome." In 2011, the album "Pararlama and Other Stories of Demosthenes Voutras," illustrated by Thanasis Petrou, was released by Topos Editions.
