CHilnta Papadimitriou

Hilda Papadimitriou was born in Kallithea in 1957. She studied Law in Athens and translation at the Hellenic American Union. She has been professionally involved in translation since 1994. Among others, she has translated works by Malcolm Bradbury, John Barth, Jonathan Coe, Percival Everett, Dave Eggers, Mary Gaitskill, Jane Smiley, David Malouf, Nick Hornby, Siri Hustvedt, Raymond Chandler, and Agatha Christie. She has also translated texts on contemporary art (for ART1 magazine), film texts (for publications by the Greek Film Center), and exhibition catalogs for the School of Fine Arts, the DESTE Foundation, the Ministry of Culture (for the Venice and São Paulo Biennales), the Athens Festival catalog (2009), as well as for many galleries and art critics, and for the Greek Association of Art Critics. Additionally, she has written two monographs on the Beatles and the Clash, published by "Apopeira." She has contributed to music publications (ZOO, Pop&Rock, Sonic) and is a regular contributor to the online music magazine www.mic.gr.
