Varvara N. Kosmatou

She was born and raised in Argostoli, Kefalonia, and in 1995, she completed her studies at the School of Physical Education and Sport Science in Athens, specializing in "Greek Traditional Dances." She is a teacher of Greek Traditional Dances and, since 1991, has developed significant research work in Kefalonia, focusing on the island's dances, as well as the songs and customs that accompany them. In 1996, in Ancient Olympia, she presented a sample of her research work through a dance performance at the 10th "International Conference on Dance Research" organized by the International Organization of Folk Art (IOFA) in Athens, of which she is a member.
