Michael White

Michael White has worked as a professional musician, teacher, columnist, science editor for GQ magazine, and scientific advisor for the series "The Science of the Impossible" aired on the Discovery Channel. His first book was published in 1991, and since then, he has written 25 books, including the international bestsellers "Stephen Hawking: A Life in Science," "Leonardo: The First Scientist," and "Tolkien: A Biography." He was awarded the Bookman Prize in the USA for the best popular science book in 1998 for his biography of Isaac Newton. In 2002, he was a finalist for the prestigious Aventis Award, and in 2006, his book "The Fruits of War" was longlisted for the award. An honorary doctorate holder from Curtin University, he lives in Perth, Australia, with his wife and their four children. The book "Equinox" is his first novel.
