Zacharias Demathas

Zacharias Mathas - Demathas was an Economist and an Assistant Professor in the field of Political Economy at the Department of Economic and Regional Development of Panteion University, starting in 2004, with a focus on "Political Economy with an emphasis on the spatial dimension." He was born in 1944 and graduated from the German School in 1962. He obtained a degree from the School of Electrical Engineering at the Technical University of Munich in 1965, and between 1965 and 1970, he studied at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences at the University of Heidelberg, where he also earned his Diploma in Economics. In 1998, he was awarded a Doctorate from the Department of Economic and Regional Development at Panteion University of Political and Social Sciences, with a dissertation titled "Theories of Land Rent in the Classics and in K. Marx or the Usefulness of Land Rent for Understanding Certain Issues of Political Economy." He passed away suddenly on October 4, 2015.
