L. Ron Hubbard (full name: Lafayette Ronald Hubbard) was born in Tilden, Nebraska, in 1911 and passed away in Creston, California, USA, in 1986, at the age of 74. He began his career as a writer of fantasy and science fiction literature. In 1950, he codified and published his teachings on a self-help method in a book titled "Dianetics." He later expanded on his ideas by founding the movement of Scientology, which is considered today as an alternative approach to faith and spiritual health ("Church of Scientology").
