
Tzina Politi
Gina Politi was born in Athens in 1930. She studied English literature at Columbia University in New York. A Doctor of English Literature, she is currently an emeritus professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where she began teaching after the political transition in Greece. As a Fellow of Churchill College, she taught for several years at the University of Cambridge. Her books and studies on English, Greek, and comparative literature have been published in Greece and abroad. In 1998, she was honored with the "Award for Excellence in University Teaching and Research" by the Foundation for Research and Technology. In 2007, she received the essay award from the literary awards of the magazine "Diavazo" for her book "On Sin, Passion, and Other Matters," and in 2011, she was awarded the "Dido Sotiriou" Prize by the Hellenic Authors' Society.
