Paylos I. Agiannidis

Pavlos Il. Agiannidis was born in Athens in 1961, with roots in Asia Minor. He attended the Erasmian Greek-German School and then the German School of Athens (Doerpfeld Gymnasium). He was awarded a scholarship to the Veterinary School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. In the spring of 1981, as a second-year student, he had his first encounter with journalism in the international translation department of the newspaper Akropolis. Shortly after, he worked at the Northern Greece Bureau of the newspaper Ta Nea, under the supervision of Dimitris Gousidis, gaining valuable experience in all types of reporting. Meanwhile, he collaborated with the Greek Section of Swedish Radio, "60 Minutes" of the American CBS network, the newspaper To Vima, and Tachydromos. In 1983, he attended seminars at the Vienna Music Academy. He also served as editor-in-chief at the radio station of the Thessaloniki International Fair "Radio 105 FM" and as a press officer for three years at the Thessaloniki Film Festival. In June 1991, he returned to Athens and worked in the cultural section of the newspaper Ta Nea, also conducting political interviews (Hans-Dietrich Genscher, Václav Havel, among others). In 1993, he translated into Greek (for Livani-Nea Synora publications) the book Diva by Elena Matthiopoulou, while contributing texts to the program booklets of the Athens Concert Hall. In 1994, he wrote the script for an ERT documentary on the presentation of Mikis Theodorakis' works in Montreal. In 1995, he joined the first editorial team of the music magazine Difono, and in the meantime, took on a position in the cultural section of the newspaper Ta Nea, under the direction of Leon V. Karapanayiotis, while also collaborating with the magazines Istos and Marie Claire. He was a member of the Journalists' Union of Macedonia and Thrace Daily Newspapers and is now a member of the Journalists' Union of Athens Daily Newspapers. He is the author of three books.
