Kostas E. Skandalidis

Kostas Skandalidis was born in Kardamaina, Kos, in 1946. He is a retired bank employee. He served as the secretary of the Greek Democratic Youth (EDIN) of the Center Union during the period 1964-1966, appointed by Georgios Papandreou. He was a member of the PASOK South Dodecanese Regional Committee from 1985 to 1994. He worked at the Dodecanese Prefecture from 1985 to 1987, in the Citizen Service Office, under Prefect Giannis Mahairidis. He was the employees' representative on the Board of Directors of the Commercial Bank from 1988 to 1990. He has been a municipal councilor of the Municipality of Rodes continuously since 1991 and served as Deputy Mayor of Finance from 1992 to 1998. He was Vice President of the Islands Commission of Europe (CRPM) from 1992 to 1994. Since 1996, he has been the President of the International Center of Writers and Translators of the Municipality of Rodes. He is married to Artemis Papadimitriou, a retired court employee, and they have two children: Mary, a computer science professor, and Stathis, a graduate of the Music University of Athens and a classical guitar diploma holder.
