Frank Close

Frank Close is a professor of high-energy physics at the University of Oxford. He has served as vice president of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, head of the Theoretical Physics Division at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, and head of Communication and Education at CERN. He is the author of numerous academic texts as well as popular science books. For his "outstanding contribution to the public understanding of physics," he was awarded the Kelvin Medal by the Institute of Physics.
