
Ivan Bunin
Ivan Bunin (1870 - 1953): Poet and prose writer (Nobel Prize in Literature, 1933). Born into an aristocratic family, he studied at Moscow University and worked as a journalist and librarian. In 1929, he emigrated to France, where he lived until the end of his life. The main characteristics of Bunin's prose are its rich idiomatic language, expressiveness, and musicality of description. His most significant works include: "The Apples of Antonov" (1900), "The Village" (1910), "The Gentleman from San Francisco" (1916), "The Harvesters" (1925).
