Eyagelia Papachristou - Panou

Evangelia Papachristou-Panou grew up in Corinth, where she completed her primary and secondary education. Her university studies were not in Literature; she studied Theology, Philosophy, and Literature. After graduating from the School of Literature, she actively pursued publishing in Poetry and Essays. Her work has been included in numerous anthologies both in Greece and abroad. In 1985, her poetry collection "Blackberries in the Path of Meteors" (1981) was translated into French. In 2002, her poetry was translated into Persian, and her poems have also been translated into English, Romanian, and Hindi. She has published 22 poetry collections and 9 volumes of essays to date. She is a regular member of the Hellenic Authors' Society, the Society of Christian Letters, and a founding member of the Word and Art Association Alkyonides of Corinth. She has received gold and silver medals from Italy and France. In 1991, the Municipality of Corinth awarded her the gold medal of the city of Corinth. In 1998, she was declared a regular member by the "Union of Corinthians."
