Dimitra A. Koukoura

Dimitra Koukoura was born in Thessaloniki. She studied at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in the Faculty of Philosophy (Department of Linguistics) and the Faculty of Theology. She continued her studies at the Sorbonne (Paris I, Paris V) and at the Catholic Institute of Paris, where she pursued postgraduate studies in General Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, Byzantine History, Liturgy, and Patrology, obtaining four postgraduate degrees (one Maitrise and three DEA). She defended her doctoral thesis in the Department of Theology, worked as a philology teacher in Secondary Education, and in 1993 was elected as a Lecturer in the Department of Theology. Today, she is an Associate Professor at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She has authored three studies related to her teaching field (Stylistic Observations on the Homiletic Texts of St. Gregory Palamas, Words of Bishops, Rhetoric and Ecclesiastical Rhetoric) and a considerable number of articles. She speaks English, French, Italian, and Spanish.
