Ioannis-Dionysios Salavrakos is an economist and international relations expert. He studied Economics at the Department of Economics at the University of Athens. He completed his Master's degree (MA) in International Banking and Financial Services at the University of Reading, his Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Political Science at the University of Aberdeen, and his Ph.D. in International Economy at the University of St. Andrews in the UK. He is a research associate at the Institute of International Economic Relations in Athens and an academic member of the Athens Institute for Education and Research. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses at the Department of Economics at London Metropolitan University in the UK and Economics at the University of Ioannina. His research interests focus on international trade, multinational corporations, economic history, defense economics, and the historical correlation of war with the economy, emphasizing human nature in both times of peace (economic cooperation) and times of conflict. He has been published in academic journals in Greece and abroad, as well as in the Greek political, economic, and military press.
