Vyron TH. THeodoropoulos

Born in Athens in 1920, he studied Law at the University of Athens. In 1946, he joined the diplomatic service and served in Permanent Missions to the UN and NATO, as a consul in Istanbul, an embassy counselor in Ankara, and as the Consul General in Alexandria. Holding the rank of ambassador since 1965, he served as the director of Turkish and Cypriot Affairs, Ambassador to Canada, Permanent Representative to the European Community, and Permanent Representative to NATO. From 1976 until his retirement in 1981, he served as the Permanent Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and simultaneously as the chairman of the Central Negotiation Committee for Greece's accession to the European Community.
