Dimitrios Eyagelidis

Dimitris Evangelidis hails from Edessa. He studied Natural Sciences (Biology-Geology) at the University of Thessaloniki, earning his degree in 1971. During his postgraduate studies at the University of Patras, he attended courses in Evolutionary and Cultural Anthropology (Ethnology) under visiting Professor Dr. R. Bernard from Washington State University, USA (1972-73). Alongside his primary professional activities, he continued to systematically engage with Ethnology, Prehistoric Archaeology, and Linguistics. This engagement resulted in numerous articles, analyses, publications, and books, among which stand out the three dictionaries: "Political Terminology" - A Concise Dictionary of Major Political, Philosophical, and Economic Terms (Athens 1979, Thessaloniki 1980, Athens 1996), "Dictionary of Ancient Greek and Peri-Hellenic Tribes" (Thessaloniki 2002, 2005), "Dictionary of the Peoples of the Ancient World" (Thessaloniki 2006), the significant ethnological study: "The Origin of the Albanians and the Arvanite-speaking Greeks - Contribution to the Issue of the Ethnogenesis of the Albanian People" (Athens 2014), and books about Macedonia: "Macedonia, Yesterday and Today" (Edessa 2008, published by the Prefectural Administration of Pella), "Macedonia - Evidence" New York, USA 2011 (Collective work), "Macedonian Studies" (Edessa, 2011), "Ancient Macedonia–Ethnology, Archaeology, History" (Athens 2012), "Macedonian Studies II" (Athens 2015), and the academic texts: N. Vasileiadis-D. Evangelidis "From Slavomacedonism to Skopjan Macedonism: The Genealogy of an Ethnological Falsification" (Thessaloniki, 2017), N. Vasileiadis-D.
