CHristos Kefalis
Christos Kefalis was born in 1963. He is a graduate of the Department of Chemistry at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During his student years, he was actively involved in the student movement through the ranks of KNE and KKE. His articles on various political, ideological, and scientific topics have occasionally appeared in leftist newspapers (Avgi, Epohi) and magazines (Politis, Daemon of Ecology, Spartakos, etc.). He has published two essays on Trotsky and Lukács with translations of their texts (published by Paraskinio), as well as his own studies, such as "The Dialecticians of Misfortune and the Misfortunes of Dialectics" (published by Korfi, 2000), a critique of the distortions of dialectics, among others. He has also been involved in chess systematically since 1978, when he joined the Pagkrati Chess Club, with which he competed for 15 years, first in the youth and then in the men's categories. He holds the title of "Candidate Master." He participated in the finals of the Youth Championship in 1981 and the Men's semifinals in 1990. He has worked as a chess teacher at Arsakeio Psychiko and as a translator. His chess articles have occasionally been featured in the magazine "Sah" and the newspapers "Avgi" and "Chaniotika Nea." He is responsible for the chess department of AEP Melission and a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Chess Federation (HSF).
