Paramahansa Yogananda

Paramahansa Yogananda (1893-1952) is widely regarded as one of the preeminent spiritual figures of our time. Born in India, he traveled to the United States in 1920, where he spent over thirty years teaching the ancient science of meditation and the art of balanced spiritual living. Through his book "Autobiography of a Yogi" and many other works, Paramahansa Yogananda introduced millions of readers to the timeless wisdom of the East. Under the guidance of one of his earliest and closest disciples, Sri Daya Mata, his spiritual and humanitarian work continues through the Self-Realization Fellowship, the international organization he founded in 1920 to disseminate his teachings worldwide.
