Eleni Stasinou

Eleni Stasinou was born in Patras in 1948 to a working-class family, a fact she considers absolutely honorable. She studied Political Science at Panteion University and continued with postgraduate studies in Business Administration. Her works include the poetry collections "The Pains of Transformation" and "Further Beyond," the novels "Margarita the Matchmaker," "Escape Towards the Light," "Stefanos of the Olive Grove," "The Saintly Whore of His Heart" (bestseller 2001), "The Empire of the Pretentious," "Audition," "Nights of Submission," and she also contributed to the collective work "The Harbor of My Life." In 2011, "The Woman of Delphi" was selected by INSULA EUROPEA (along with works by seven other European authors) as a representative work of a Greek female author for the event Voci femminili inedite dall’Europa. Her other works include "The Dance of Crystals," a historical novel, and "The Pierogi Makers of Love," a fairy tale for adults, both published in 2015.
