Ingo Schulze

Ingo Schulze was born in 1962 in Dresden and studied philology at the University of Jena. He subsequently worked for a newspaper and at the Altenburg Municipal Theater. His six-month stay in St. Petersburg inspired him to write his first book, "33 Moments of Happiness" (1995), which immediately gained him recognition and was awarded the Alfred Döblin Prize, the Ernst Willner Prize at the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition, as well as the Aspekte Prize. His second book, titled "Simple Stories" (1998), also achieved great success worldwide. He currently resides in Berlin.
