Giorgos Ioannidis
George Ioannidis was born in Sidirokastro, Serres, in 1977 and studied psychology (BA) and psychoanalysis (MA) in Thessaloniki (North College) and London (Middlesex University), respectively. At a young age, he discovered the wisdom of Tao's simplicity, which led him to further his spiritual exploration into the paths of Western Esotericism, specifically Hermetic Alchemy, the Typhonian Tradition, Thelemic mysticism, and the Greek philosophy of Pythagoras and Plotinus. Throughout his career, he has worked as a psychologist at the Pissalidis/Karipi psychiatric clinic (2002-3), as a psychotherapist at the Ariadne Mental Health Center (2001-3), and as a psychology lecturer at the Life Therapy Academy (2005-17). He is also actively involved in research and writing, having published his studies on websites (metafysiko.gr, esoterica.gr) and in alternative exploration magazines (Phenomena, Anexigito, Avaton). He has been featured on numerous TV shows, such as "Gates of the Unexplained" (by K. Hardavelas on ALTER), "Cinemania" (by N. Goulias on ET3), "Confidential Scenarios" (by S. Abatzi on TV Macedonia), "Code of Mysteries" (by Vasilis Bantidis on AstraTV), "Centrifuge" (on TV Macedonia), among others. He has participated in various conferences with his lectures, such as MetaCon (2012), the 1st & 2nd "Thesmoforos Demetra" Conference (2015, 2016), and the 1st International Mythicism Conference (2016). He has also been a speaker and guest at the Municipal Library of the Municipality of Peristeri and has given numerous thematic lectures at cultural centers, exhibitions, and festivals of literature and art across the country. His personal books published by Archetypo include "Necronomicon" (2008) and "Necronomicon: The Path of the Black God" (2011). His books republished by Daidaleos include "The Way of the Buffalo: The Wisdom of Zen Buddhism Through 10 Images" (2003), "The Holy Grail & the Mystery of Eternal Life" (2004), "Demons: The Dark Angels" (2006), as well as his more recent studies: "The Face of Jesus as an Archetype of Man: The Art of the Sacred as a Call to the Truly Real" (2013) and "Restless Shadows: Ghosts, Mora & the Problem of Death" (2015), "Hecate of the Night & the Soul's Quest for Communion with the Divine" (2017). He has also coordinated, edited, and contributed to more than 10 collective books, such as "The Power of Symbols" (2006), "Strange Sacred Places" (2006), "7 Books of Magic" (2007), "Alchemy" (2009), "Freemasonry" (2009), "2012: What Will Really Happen?" (2010), among others. He served as the editor-in-chief of the magazine Mystery, one of the largest monthly magazines of Alternative Exploration in Greece, from 2004 to 2013. Today, he lives and works in Thessaloniki, is a close collaborator of the Greek Metaphysical Community (metafysiko.gr), and has been the director of Daidaleos Publications since the summer of 2013.
