Zisimos Lorentzatos

Zissimos Lorenzatos (1915-2004). Zissimos Lorenzatos was born in Athens, the son of philologist and professor Panagis Lorenzatos. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Athens and engaged in critical study, translation, and poetry. He made his literary debut in 1936 with the study "Edgar Poe; The Exceptions; The Philosophy of Composition; The Poetic Principle" and established his reputation with his book "Essay I," which focused on the poetic work of Dionysios Solomos. He also published studies on the works of Alexandros Papadiamantis, George Seferis, C.P. Cavafy, Angelos Sikelianos, Dimitris Chatzis, and others. In the field of translation, he worked with authors such as Ezra Pound, André Gide, and William Blake.
