Alkis THrylos

Alkis Thrylos (1896-1971) is the pseudonym of Eleni Negreponti, wife of Kostas Ouranis. She was born in Athens. From a young age, she engaged in literary criticism. As a contributor to the magazine "Nea Estia," she maintained the theater criticism column from 1927 until the end of her life. She also collaborated with "Noumas" by Tangopoulos, "Akropolis" by Vlasis Gavriilidis, "Pyrsos," "Vomos," "Elliniki Dimiourgia," "Armonia," "Kainourgia Epohi," and other publications. She served as a member of the State Literary Awards committee, a member of the artistic committee of the National Theatre, and an advisor to the Association of Theatre and Music Critics. She founded the Group of Twelve. In 1969, she was appointed an honorary member of the Academy of Athens, where she bequeathed her estate. She was involved in theater as the author of the one-act play "Floosvos," which was performed in 1916. She also published travel impression texts, but primarily focused on essays and criticism.
