Stayros D. Panou
Professor Stavros D. Panou was born in Athens. He studied philosophy, sociology, political science, and psychology at the Universities of Athens, Munich, Strasbourg, and Paris. He holds a degree from the University of Athens and earned doctorates from the Universities of Munich, Strasbourg, and Thessaloniki. He has served as a professor at the Universities of Munich and Regensburg and has also taught at the Universities of Strasbourg, Bochum, Frankfurt, Münster, Athens, Thessaloniki, Ioannina, and at the Inter-University Centre of Postgraduate Studies in Dubrovnik. He is an associate of the Max Planck Institute and a founding member of the "Association of Greek Academics of Western Europe" as well as the first anti-dictatorial organization abroad (Munich). He is the editor of the series "Texts in Philosophy and Sociology" (since 1978) and the series "Texts" (since 1977). He is a member of numerous scientific societies and serves as the President of the Greek Section of the "International Society for Social Philosophy and Philosophy of Law" (IVR) and the General Secretary of the "International Society for Phenomenology" (SIPH).
