Vaso Artinopoulou

Vasso Artinopoulou was born in Patras in 1963. She is a sociologist with postgraduate studies (M.A. and Ph.D.) in criminology. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Sociology at Panteion University. She has published books and numerous scientific articles on topics such as domestic violence, victimology, social movements, juvenile delinquency, mass media, anti-crime policy, and gender equality. She is a member of the European Commission's Network of Experts on School Violence (1997-1999) and the European Observatory on School Violence (2000 to present). Since March 2001, she has been the president of the Research Center for Gender Equality.
