
THodoros Soumas
Theodoros Soumas is an author and film critic. He began his film studies at the "Institute of Communication Arts" in Brussels (IAD). He continued with undergraduate and postgraduate film studies at the 8th University of Paris, and as a free listener at the 3rd University. He holds a degree in philosophy from the 8th University. He also attended courses in the Department of Psychoanalysis for two years.
He has published his critiques and studies on cinema in numerous film magazines, in "Tetarto," in "Avgi," in publications of the "Thessaloniki Film Festival," among others. He has directed and written the scripts for two short films and the second part of the feature film "About Love" (together with Maria Gavala).
With Aigokeros Publications, he has published the books "Cinema and Sexuality-Eroticism" (1983), "Love, Psychology, and Aesthetics in Hollywood Cinema" (1992), "12 European Directors" (1999), "Cinema and Love" (2005), and "National Cinemas, Styles, and Directors" (2009). With Apopeira Publications, he has published the short story collection "Claire and the Sea" (2001).
