Vrasidas Karalis

Vrasidas Karalis was born in Krestena, Ilia, in 1960 and grew up in Piraeus. He graduated from the University of Athens in 1983. Since 1990, he has been teaching Greek at the University of Sydney in Australia. He is the head of the Department of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies at the University of Sydney. He has published translations of Byzantine historiography works and studies on the works of Zisimos Lorenzatos, Nikos Kazantzakis, and Dionysios Solomos. He has authored numerous articles on works and authors of modern Greek literature and has translated into Greek novels by the Australian Nobel laureate author Patrick White.
