Kostas D. Papadimitriou

Kostas D. Papadimitriou was born in Athens in 1954. He holds a degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Athens and a PhD in Law from Université de Paris X - Nanterre, with his dissertation on "The Individual Freedoms of Employees in France, Italy, and Greece," which was awarded the highest distinction (1988). He was a scholar of the French Government during the years 1980-1984 and 1993-94 in collaboration with Université X - Nanterre. Subsequently, he was assigned to lecture at the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of Law at the University of Athens as well as at the Hellenic Police Officers Academy. He served as a special advisor to the Minister of Labor from October 1989 to April 1990. He is a Supreme Court lawyer specializing in individual and collective Labor Law cases. Since 1986, he has participated in the research activities of the Research Institute of Procedural Studies (IDME), focusing on issues of labor procedural law. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of E.D.E.K.A. since 1988. He has served as a Mediator-Arbitrator at O.MED. since 1992. Since 1994, he has been a Scientific Associate of the Hellenic Parliament. He is fluent in French, English, Italian, and has a good command of German. He has published a significant number of scientific articles as well as the following monographs: "Informatics-Work-Labor Law," 1988, "The Resolution of Collective Labor Disputes," 1992, and "The Collective Intervention of Employees in the Resolution of Individual Labor Disputes," 1988. He has also participated as a speaker at many national and international conferences.
